Bio
As the Outreach Intern, I work to spread awareness and highlight sustainability efforts at SDSU. My responsibilities include creating the monthly newsletter, updating the Sustainable SDSU website, organizing events, and running our social media platforms. I hope to use my passion for sustainability to help people realize that anyone can make a difference for our planet!
Sustainability Origin Story: I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, where nature and lakes are plentiful. There is a large push in Minnesota to conserve and preserve our natural resources, so this community has had a large impact on my passion. I’m also half Brazilian, so I’ve been fortunate enough to visit family in Brazil almost every year of my life. Because of my visits, I’ve been able to gain a larger perspective on the world, and for me that means how humans treat the environment. These travels showed me the importance of taking care of our beautiful home. My family and I have been practicing sustainability in our home for as long as I can remember. From using reusable bags to composting, sustainability is something that is ingrained in the way I live.
