At the Office of Energy and Sustainability, we are working hard to increase transparency and tracking on campus Sustainability initiatives.
AASHE STARS
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating Systems (STARS) is an online system that allows universities to track their sustainability efforts. Our AASHE STARS Student Assistant collaborates with various campus departments to expand and assess their sustainability efforts, which are then reported to the AASHE STARS system. Currently, SDSU has achieved Gold status through AASHE STARS.

Sustainable SDSU Map
San Diego State University has added a sustainability layer to the campus map, including garden locations, water refill stations, and more. Students now have the opportunity to explore sustainability further through this virtual map.
