We're dedicated to reducing resource consumption in laboratory settings through both physical and behavioral changes. Our program encourages labs to adopt sustainable practices by implementing our self-assessment initiative to recognize exceptional efforts in campus laboratories.
Did you know?
Laboratories can consume up to five times more energy than regular office spaces! This is largely due to high-energy appliances and unsustainable practices. Our goal is to promote environmental and economic sustainability at SDSU through conscious decision-making and focused education.
GLAB Certification Process
Our Green Labs intern guides laboratories through the self-assessment process and awards certifications based on their sustainability efforts. This rating reflects the lab's sustainability level for that semester and helps identify areas for improvement. Becoming Green Labs certified is a straightforward process that requires minimal time but can make a significant impact on campus energy usage.
